As human beings, we all need to feel appreciated in the workplace. Receiving a paycheck and receiving a pat on the back are two separate entities. Having a sense of self-worth and value motivates efficient work habits. After all, no one likes to be taken for granted. Many employers settle on using holiday bonuses to say "thank you" to their employees. Most, if not all, employees look forward to their holiday bonuses. But, these year-end bonuses are expected.
